The PUG Welcome Message |
Welcome to Power-Up Gamers or PUG for short. We're a small, but dedicated community talking primarily about video games, but branching out to other interests as well, but with one thing that should be commonplace no matter where you are on the board: Respect and Common Courtesy- you treat your fellow member with politeness and respect, and not just in back-and-forth reaction, but also when posting a subject for the first time. We're looking for thoughtful members who can express themselves like adults and not 14-year olds- all are welcome though, regardless of age, but contributions can determine if whether you stay or not- just stick to the basic rule, and you'll never find yourself in the doghouse...
If you're inclined to join us, please take a moment to read through The Rules of The Game, the terms and conditions for membership to Power-Up Gamers
Thanks for checking us out, we hope you enjoy your stay...

More big holiday releases!! |
Sorry for the delay in getting these listed, but here's even more of the big games that we're talking about this season:

A sci-fi/action RPG from acclaimed developer Gearbox, Borderlands combines the best in first-person action gaming with elements of a traditional role-playing game. {b]CloakedPuppet[/b] has started the ball rolling on this one... check it out right her

Assassin's Creed 2 is a long-awaited sequel, that's addressing a lot of problems that gamers had with the original. Read CloakedPuppet's full write-up right here.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 just might be one of the biggest, if not the biggest, releases of the year, continuing directly where the first one left off. The Aceman has started this ball rolling, but more are chiming in... get the scoop right here

Without a doubt, the biggest racing game of the year is Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 3 and with the number of features that's been included, as well as the cars and courses, it's easy to see why. Dawnfades has started this ball rolling right here.

Stoked: Big Air Edition re-releases the original game but with some major additions, 2 new mountains and racing being first and foremost amongst them. DGoodhart has been flying down the mountains and has the early word right here.
Borderlands, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Assassin's Creed 2 are available for multiple platforms. Forza Motorsport 3 and Stoked: Big Air Edition are Xbox 360 exclusives.

At long last... DIRT 2 |

Well, it's been long-awaited in these parts anyway...
Codemasters is back with the sequel to it's last off-road racer DIRT with DIRT 2 featuring a variety of different race types and cars all centered around off-road thrills. Featuring both competitive circuit races and point-to-point rally events, as well as a very vibrant online mode, and just absolutely terrific presentation, it's an extremely well-done sequel, sure to please any fan of off-road racing.
Check out what our members have to say right here and then we'll see you at the starting line...

Don't have enough Ninjas? Give Mini Ninjas a go... |

Eidos' newest game, Mini Ninjas is now out, designed to be a kid-friendly game, it features the charm of a Lego based game as well and can still provide fun for the adult player as well, especially if you're not to hung up on having your games be ultra-realistic. DGoodhart ahs the game in hand and has been having a good time with it, check it out right here.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is now out... |

... and obviously is doing quite well. Batman: Arkham Asylum is the long awaited game that brings us a proper Dark Knight to this generation of video game consoles (sorry, Lego Batman, though a lot of fun is a different thing altogether) and from all accounts, looks like one fantastic game. Our members certainly think so, and they've been sharing their thoughts along the way.
Read what they have to say right here... I know they make me want to get it sooner than later...

The Summer Gaming Season Starts... |
... and here's the impressions for three fun games out there...

Prototype is a big open world action game with a deep science fiction story and a uniquely super-powered character and it looks fantastic and so far, it really sounds great too. Check the impressions thread started by CloakedPuppet right here.

Fuel is probably the biggest open world racing game ever made, and features a ton of races and challenges set against a highly explorable post-apocalyptic type of world. DGoodhart has opening thoughts about the game and he's pretty pleased with what he has. Check it out right here.

Red Faction Guerilla is the third in the series from Saints Row developer Volition, and is a third person shooter that promises to redefine destruction-based gameplay in a huge open world. More impressions from CloakedPuppet start right here, so check it out.
All three games are being talked about for the Xbox 360, but all are available across multiple platforms.

A Classic Reborn- Bionic Commando!! |

20 years after first being released on the NES, the first true sequel to the classic game Bionic Commando is finally here, and makes the move to 3D with giant environments to swing on that bionic arm through. And along with the 3D, you'll also get some pretty cool new control possibilities as well.
So is this re-birth worth it? DGoodhart has been playing this one for a little while now and he's sharing the details. Check it out right here.
Bionic Commando is available on multiple platforms, but the version we're talking about here is the Xbox 360 version.
